It is always so exciting to be at a conference or workshop with peers and discuss grand plans for contributing to the research base of our profession. Then we go home and regular life consumes all our time.
How do we maintain the commitment to collaborate and get some research started and finished?
One option is to develop something practical that can be carried out alongside your normal daily practice. One approach could be the single subject case design. Another could be to routinely monitor and collate pre, post and followup outcome data – and publish it.
I’m working on a series of photographs for fear avoidance and I’ve given myself a timeframe to get it done by.
Another thing that helps me get going is to commit to a conference – then I have a deadline!!
